Wait, what is this?  My fingers actually work and are typing words and stuff?!

I haven’t written anything for this blog since August, now that’s a long time.  You might be wondering if it was because I had broken fingers or went to live in a place where there’s no internet or computer for me to write a post.  Or maybe it was because I was so busy that I just didn’t have time to write something.

And you would be right.  I woke up one day in a desolate island with no computer, phone, or internet, and where I was too busy building a shelter, hunting, and learning how to make fire.  Learning how to make fire took so much effort that my fingers bled and broke off, thus not allowing me to write a post.

No? But they won’t know that I’m lying… okay, fine.

Kate said I shouldn’t lie.  Here’s what really happened… nothing, I was just lazy.  There, I said it.  I would much rather binge on Netflix than write a post.  There’s just so much good stuff to watch on Netflix.  Did you see “Making a Murderer” yet?  It’s good.  It’s about Steven Avery, who spent 18 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit and then when DNA testing exonerated him he sued his county’s Sheriff’s department.  That’s when all hell broke loose.  Anyways, you should watch it.

Goal Settings for 2015

I am usually not a goal setting person, but since January is the month of setting goals/resolutions, then why not set some goals for myself as well.  I almost never set goals because I usually fail at them, but last time I set goals I did pretty well… see Oktoberfest Writing Challenge.

For those of you who don’t remember, in the Oktoberfest Writing Challenge I was challenged to write at least 500 words every day for the month of October.  Even though that challenge was a lot of fun and one that I completed, I will not be doing that challenge every day for 2015.

From everything that I’ve read and heard, I have to set realistic goals, and writing at least 500 words every day for 365 days straight is not realistic.

I do, however, have some pretty realistic goals that I will try to accomplish this year.

Is it just me or was October the longest month ever?  It seemed as if it was never going to end.  Maybe I just wanted it to be Halloween already, or maybe it is because my November vacation can’t come fast enough.

Another factor that might have an effect on the extra length of October is that I was extremely busy with personal stuff and with work.  The only thing that kept me sane was knowing that vacation was coming soon.  Did I mention vacation soon?

October Goals

As many of you know, I set a few goals for myself this month.  The first one was a fitness challenge where I had to work out at least three times a week. The second goal was a writing challenge in which I had to write at least 500 words a day, every day.

Now, let me start by saying that I accomplished half of my goals.  That is, I was able to complete one of them, but failed miserably on the other.
