Okay, the title might have been a bit misleading, but if I got you to click then I did my job well.
I didn’t really receive two awards; I got nominated for the Liebster Award by two different bloggers: Even Steven @ Even Steven Money and Kalen @ Money Mini Blog. Thank You Guys!
The Liebster Award is an award that bloggers give other bloggers and it is a way to recognize new or smaller blogs. It is also a way to build the blogging community and welcome relatively new bloggers.
Liebster Award Rules
- Answer the questions you are asked.
- Nominate 3 other newer/smaller blogs.*
*It is hard to tell who is newer or smaller so I just picked three blogs that are less than a year old and that I enjoy reading.
The Questions Even Steven Asked Me
If you could blog about one other topic other than personal finance, what would it be?
I probably would blog about music because I love it, but I would probably sound like a hater because most of the music out there nowadays is not that great. I’m looking at you Nicki Minaj.
What is the best live event you have ever been to? (concert, sports, entertainer)
I would have to say that it was a Radiohead concert I went to last year. Hands down the best show I’ve seen. The Cirque du Soleil shows are also pretty good.
What is meal that if the president of the United States was coming to your house that you would cook?
I’m not a cook at all, but I know how to make rice. I’m pretty sure President Obama doesn’t eat rice on a regular basis so I would cook him some rice with some type of meat. Fancy! lol In reality, I would ask Kate to cook since she’s the one with the food blog.
Who are 3 people(currently living) that you would like to meet?
This is a tough one. I’m not really sure who I would like to meet. Maybe Weird Al, Willie Nelson, and Stephen Colbert – they seem like fun guys.
What would other people say to describe you?
Extremely handsome. Oh wait, you mean other people, not just my fiancee and my mom? Other people might say, “He a’ight.”
The Questions Kalen Asked Me
What is your favorite thing about blogging?
I like that it keeps me focused on my personal finance goals. I can’t really be blogging about personal finance and not have my own finances in order.
What is your favorite way to invest?
Right now I’m only investing in indexed mutual funds. To me that’s the safest way to invest and the least worrisome.
What is the most important thing in the world to you?
My family, which includes my fiancee, are the most important thing in the world to me.
If you had an extra $100,000 right now, what would you do with it?
I would invest it in boring index funds so it can help bring me closer to financial independence.
And The Nominees Are…
I’ve been reading the following bloggers’ post and have enjoyed each and every one of them very much. I am happy to nominate:
Kipp at Frankly Frugal Finance
Nicola at The Frugal Cottage
Kara at The Daily Whisk
Questions for the Nominees
1. What made you start your blog?
2. Do you have any special talents?
3. What is your dream job/career?
4. If you were to start a band, what kind of music would you play?
5. Have you read any good books lately that you would recommend? (It doesn’t have to be personal finance related)
You can write a post with your answers and nominees, or you could just answer them in a comment. This is not a dictatorship and you’re not obligated to do anything. This is just for fun.
