Happy 2015!!!

Happy New Year!!!

It might be a little late to wish everyone a Happy New Year, but I’ve been on a break these last few weeks.  But don’t worry my friends, I’m back and better than ever.

This is just a short “welcome back” post.  I really just want to wrap up what an awesome year 2014 was for me and my close ones.

I mentioned in a previous post that Kate and our friend K-to-the-J-to-the-M got a new job, which is very exciting.  Kate is freaking out a little bit because it is going to be something completely different than what she has been doing since graduating college 8 years ago.

This month she spent a LOT of money on clothing because she didn’t really have anything that was “business casual” – one of the perks of being a chemist and working in the lab is that you can wear whatever you want.  But now she’s out of the lab and has to dress the part and her $10 plaid sneakers from Payless won’t cut it anymore.

I also mentioned that our friends En and Em had their second baby this last year.  But they weren’t the only ones.  My cousin P got married and had a baby in the same year – double celebration!

My brother-from-another-mother Poppity-Pop also had a baby girl this year.  It is cool to see him so happy with his daughter.

My other brother-from-a-different-mother CA found love in 2014.  That also makes me very happy.

Kate’s brother also got married this year, which was awesome on its own, and we also took that opportunity to go to Yellowstone.  Double score!

But my favorite love story of 2014 is that I asked the love of my life to marry me. A lot of cool things happened in 2014, but getting engaged was by far my favorite part.

Oh, I also started this blog, which is kind of cool.  I don’t consider myself a blogger, but it is cool to do this as a hobby.  Who knows? Maybe it will turn into a full time thing… I have a long way to go though since I’m not making any real money yet.

Financially, I did pretty good this year.  I’m contributing a good amount for my retirement and I’m also building a nice emergency fund.  I am on track to be debt free by the end of April – that’s 4 months from now!!!

Anyways, if 2015 is half as good as 2014 was, then it will still be a pretty good year.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful, prosperous, stupendous 2015!!! – that’s the first time I’ve ever used the word stupendous, I’m not even sure what it means.

Happy 2015 everyone.  Now, let’s get back to business!

  1. Great 2014!! Congratulations again on your engagement!! I have been married for 11 years and it was 12 years ago next month that we got engaged, but every time I read about someone’s engagement, I am always taken back to my engagement and how surprised I was that it happened, but also how excited I was to marry the guy I loved. I hope for a wonderful 2015 for you!

  2. I don’t think it’s that late yet to wish people a Happy New Year. So, Happy New Year! 🙂 You don’t see everyone on the day of New Year’s Eve, so I would say the greeting is valid for the first week of January. I’ve been using it still.

Congrats on your engagement. I also got engaged, but I was the one who asked. Lol.
